Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

This site uses cookies. By continuing to use NorthParlor, you acknowledge this policy. You may decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on the home page.

1. What We Collect

NorthParlor is a static editorial website. It does not operate accounts, require registration, or process payments. The information we may collect is limited to:

  • Contact form submissions — name, email address, phone number (optional), and message text submitted through the contact form. This information is not processed by any server-side script and is not transmitted or stored.
  • Cookies — a single cookie or localStorage entry is set when a visitor interacts with the cookie consent banner. This records whether the visitor accepted or declined optional cookies. No tracking or analytics cookies are set without consent.
  • Server logs — web hosting providers typically retain standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These logs are retained for operational and security purposes and are not used for behavioural profiling.

2. Cookies

This site uses localStorage to store your cookie preference (accepted or rejected). This data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to any server. No third-party tracking cookies are used on this site.

You may clear your browser's localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your cookie preference and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit to the home page.

3. How We Use Information

Information submitted through the contact form is for communication purposes only. It is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than responding to the inquiry.

4. Third-Party Services

NorthParlor loads images from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org), a publicly accessible media repository operated by the Wikimedia Foundation. Loading these images may result in a request being made to Wikimedia's servers, which are subject to the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.google.com). Loading fonts may result in a request to Google's servers. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.

5. Data Retention

This site does not maintain a database and does not retain visitor data beyond standard server log retention periods determined by the hosting provider.

6. Your Rights

Residents of Canada have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. If you have questions about information we may hold, contact us at hello@northparlor.org.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date of last revision is noted at the top of this page. Continued use of the site following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
